GUADALAJARA AND TLAQUEPAQUE:

On Linda's Birthday, August 5, 2007, we jumped aboard a "luxury bus" (as they are known here in Mexico) for a 5 hour ride to Guadalajara and the artistic suburb of Tlaquepaque. Linda was anxious to "get out of town" here in PV as it has been really hot and humid with no mucho traveling since we got here in May. So in our tour bus we relaxed in fully air-conditioned wide seats and huge windows to check out the vistas.

It was not what we expected. It is nothing like the rest of Mexico in our past experiences. We left the PV area to ascend big mountains and valleys that stretched for miles. Extinct volcanoes that were covered with pine trees and tropical foliage. Even a cactus here and there.
